Dog Training
I focus on training your dog and teaching you, the owner, how to effectively communicate with your dog, without using fear, submission or intimidation.
The last five years I have been helping clients raise/train their own service dogs and helping others raise/train their therapy dogs or pets. I am a licensed Evaluator with Pet Partners therapy dog organization. My dog, Ginger, and I have been visiting Shriners Hospital for Children in Sacramento for almost 4 years along with visiting preschools, special needs classes, senior homes, hospitals, etc. in the greater Sacramento and El Dorado County areas as a Pet Partners team.

My Story
I have raised 13 Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB) Puppies from 8 weeks old to 14-16 months old then returned them to GDB, where the trainers there teach them how to guide.
You might say, one of my specialties is starting puppies - potty training, crate training, house manners, and all basic commands. Over the past 3 years, I have started 15 puppies for GDB. I get them when they are 8-10 weeks old, raise/train them until they are 16-20 weeks old. The puppy is then transferred to a GDB puppy raiser that is not able to "start" puppies usually because of work or school constraints.
My professional dog training started when I apprenticed for 2 years with a local trainer that had been training dogs for 25 years. When she moved out of state, she referred all her clients to me.
I recently adopted and trained two Labradoodles. Once their training was suitable for therapy work, I gave each to a teacher who works in the El Dorado County School District to take to school every day to interact with students there. My goal is to rescue more “Doodles” and train them to become therapy dogs for schools in the El Dorado County School District.
